Come by the Page & Palette to meet Author Josephine Graven with her book Perseverance Road during the Arts & Crafts Festival!

“Josephine (Jo) La Russa Graven is the mother of four, grandmother of six adult grand children and has one great-grand son.

Josephine is a retired educator who taught in Catholic, public, and Military Dependent schools during her 29 years as a teacher and two years as administrative intern for the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum at Fort Knox Military Dependent Schools. She was a Kentucky Trained Mentor for first year teachers. She has been recognized as Teacher of the Year twice, is listed in Who’s Who among American Teachers and Who’s Who Among American Educators. Jo chaired and was a recipientt of a Kentucky Center of the Arts Grant.

She used storytelling and writing as tools to motivate her students and get them up to grade level. Jo has been a storyteller for over forty years and has written most of her material for storytelling. She was a member of Taletalk and E,A.R.,s storytelling groups in Kentucky and is a member of Story Jammers in Baldwin County, Alabama. She was one of four storytellers featured in the Mobile Bay Magazine (2012).

Josephine has written two seasonal cookbooks for her church’s bazaar and co-wrote another for her church.

Jo has a collection of short stories which she hopes to have published in time for Christmas shopping. She has three stories published in the 2020 Pensters’ Anthology.”
