Nancy Dennis (representing St. James Episcopal Church cookbook) — Friday, 15th @12-2

Join us and Nancy Dennis as she represents the St. James Episcopal Church in signing their cookbook of Fairhope’s favourite dishes!!

Lila Marie Pennington Ryals — Friday, 15th @ 2-4

Her mother died in 1931, just days before her ninth birthday and her dad didn’t seem to be “into” caring for the least of his six children. She and her younger brother were pretty much left to their own devices to make their way through feeding themselves, managing their own health care, getting through school, and providing for their safety.

Lila and her “Buddy” struggled daily with what you and I probably never even think about, but their fierce love for their lost Mama, God, and each other saw them through.

This tale of how they survived during the war years in Fairhope, pretty much by themselves, will have you in tears at times and also amazed at their doggedness and fierce love for one another.

Paula Ann DeMonico — Saturday, 16th @ 10

Birdie Beat / A Ritmo de Pajarito is a bilingual children's musical picture book wonderfully illustrated by Paula Ann DeMonico, Author & Ilustrator. Her hand painted drawings are so vibrant using pencil and watercolor, they completely come to life.

Eleanor Ruth Becker — Saturday, 16th @ 10

Join us at Page & Palette in the kids’ department for Eleanor Ruth Becker and her book, Taylor’s Toes, The beautiful children's book that follows Taylor as he counts his toes and follows his nose.

Alan Samry — Sunday, 17th @ 12-2

Fairhope Living writer Alan Samry’s best magazine writing is now in his new book, Mapping Fairhope: Legends, Locals, and Landmarks. The book compiles articles published in the magazine, along with the photographs that originally accompanied each story.
Everyone from newcomers to long-timers will find something to enjoy.
Legends include the Fairhope Pier, People's Railroad, historic accommodations, the American Legion building, early African American schools and churches and more.
The Locals section highlights the people who make up Fairhope: founding families, creatives, and difference makers, like Lynn Oldshue, Ben Raines, Skip Jones, Lisette Normann, Cecil Chrstenberry, and more. Samry also covers local events, from Arts and Crafts and Mardi Gras to Christmas traditions and the city’s best charity events.
In Landmarks, Samry explores historic town plats and subdivision maps, uncovering the histories of areas like Volanta, Quail Creek, and Houstonville.
