“I was raised in Pritchard in a subdivision called Alabama Village where I went to Bienville ElementarySchool, KJ Clark middle school, and Vigor High School. I served six years in the military as a Respiratory Therapist. I enlisted in the US Navy and worked in Washington DC after graduating from the Army school for Respiratory Therapists in San Antonio Texas.I worked in Washington DC at Bethesda Naval Hospital under president Regan and Bush. Both presidents came to us for health care services during my time there which was always exciting. After I completed my enlistment obligation I moved me and my family back home and worked at Providence Hospital from 1992-2015 in cardiopulmonary. In 2015 I went to work at the VA in Portland Oregon to serve veterans who had pulmonary issues and experienced the west coast atmosphere for 5 years. In 2020 I moved back to Alabama and transferred to the VA in Montgomery. I spent 36 years as a Respiratory Therapist helping people get past their health care crisis and achieve a better quality of life. I earned a Master's degree from University of South Alabama in Instructional Design and Development. I obtained this major because I wanted to teach which I really enjoy doing. I retired from the VA in July of 2023 and am now writing books to earn a living. It is a completely different form of occupation but I get a lot of support from friends and family who encourage my new occupation. I have been married for 44 years. We have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and a mini schnauzer named Louie who is 5 months old. We live mainly in Millbrook but have a house close to Dauphin Island where we like to spend our summers with our grandchildren. “
