Trio Incognito featuring:

Joe Ashlar on the Organ, Ryan Raziano on the Sax,

and John Milham on the Drums

The 2018 release of John Milham’s debut record “Arden’s Garden” serves as a culmination of twenty years of recording and traveling the world as a professional musician.  Drawing inspiration from the diverse group of performers he has had the privilege to work with over the years, his album is a blend of avant-garde jazz, blues, New Orleans funk, and electronica. John, who studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, has recorded and shared the stage with many artists throughout the years.  In addition to his own band, The Inner Mission Band,  he currently performs with Molly Thomas and the Rare Birds, Grayson Capps, Johnny Sansone, the Bodhi Trio and more.  John has been voted Best Drummer four times in recent years for the Mobile Lagniappe’s “Best of Mobile Awards” and was voted 2019 Best Musician for the Laurel Leader Call’s “Reader’s Choice Awards”.  In addition to touring and studio work, John puts his energy into teaching music to kids in his community.  He hosts kid’s camps during the summer in the Mobile and Fairhope Alabama area as well as at The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel, Mississippi.  One of his most beloved annual events is “The Charlie Brown Jazz Christmas Concert” that he produces and performs in each year featuring the classic Vince Guaraldi soundtrack.  Proceeds from the concert are donated to local charities in Laurel and Mobile.  After practicing yoga for ten years, John studied to become a registered Yoga teacher in 2013. He has gone on to become an “RYT-500” (Registered Yoga Teacher with 500 training hours) and occasionally teaches Yoga and Mindfulness classes in Mississippi and Alabama. He hopes to one day combine his passions to write a book that incorporates the practices and philosophies of yoga with the art of playing music.  John lives in Laurel with his wife Andrea and their three children, John Brooks, Ana, and Arden and when not on the road can often be found helping around their store, Southern Antiques in downtown Laurel.
