George Fuller lll - Monday Night Live Music / Artist in Residence

After 25 years as fixture of Central Florida’s singer/songwriter community, this Eastern Shore native returns home with a trove of songs that Tampa morning DJ Cam Dilley — WMNF 88.5 — has called: “Fresh, light and utterly engaging. George’s music,” he continues,” has that folksy, down-home authenticity altogether too rare these days.” Highlights of a music career some have called a bit off-beat include: opening for a young folk singer named John Prine at the University of Alabama in 1996, anchoring the seminal Birmingham folk-rock duo Steamin’ Jack Koozie and touring the country many years later with a hip-hop outfit many years his junior. (He details this fish-out-of-water tale in his book Rapscallions, available on Amazon.) George has recorded three albums: an EP that seems to have disappeared, and two that are both streamable through Spotify. The most recent of these, the Anthony Crawford-produced “Hot Tea and Tears”, is downloadable also through his website — georgefullerthethird.com. Accompanying George will be two mainstays of the Gulf Coast music scene: bassist/vocalist Dennis Gould and guitarist/vocalist Matt Myrick.
