Tuesday 6 pm. Melody Duncan makes it a an Americana acoustic trio by adding her violin to the eclectic duo of her brother Chris Duncan on lead banjo, and guitarist Max Cassady. They play originals and cover Jason Isbell, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, and traditional gospel songs.
CHRIS CASSADY ACOUSTIC DUO. Chris Cassady is an acoustic guitar/banjo duo of Chris Duncan, a music teacher in Mobile, and Henry Cassady, his former student. In 2005 Cassady sought out Duncan to learn to read music after having played acoustic guitar by ear for over 30 years. Duncan did not have his guitar in the studio that day, so he instead picked up his banjo and began playing lead. Duncan transforms the Banjo into an instrument far beyond its usual bluegrass context. Their music interprets a range of popular songs in an Americana style, including covers of Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, and traditional gospel songs. In 2006 they recorded an EP of 5 originals.
